Energy in GEES toolkit: Interviews in pairs

Interviewing teaches students how to prepare, enquire and structure information about a specific issue (e.g. renewable energy). This technique can be used as a part of a roleplay excercise, by assigning roles to students and explaining them the aim of the interview – what they should find out. Students can prepare the interview questions themselves, or the questions may be given to them as a part of the assignment. The exercise starts by student A interviewing student B for the specified number of minutes. Then the students reverse roles and student B interviews student A. At the end of the exercise the students present their findings from the interviews.

Example: The representative of a local NGO that works on energy efficiency issues makes an interview with the local councillor proposing a new waste-to-energy plant in the city.
