ESPRU strengthens impacts on energy vulnerability agenda

Our Unit’s engagement in the fuel poverty domain is to be further enhanced by a two-day UKERC Meeting Place international seminar and symposium; funding for this activity was confirmed just a few days ago. The event is due to take place in spring 2013, and will be organised in conjunction with the Energy Geographies Working Group of the Royal Geographical Society, and the International Energy Vulnerability Network. Watch this space for the calls for participants and papers!

Linked to this, Stefan Bouzarovski has been participating in a Department of Energy and Climate Change expert panel aimed at exploring the underpinnings and impacts of everyday behaviours on energy efficiency. This engagement is also extending to the European scale, where Stefan was recently invited to provide a plenary presentation at a workshop on energy poverty organised by the European United Left. The workshop was followed up by a much-publicised exhibition on Poverty in Poland.
